After treatment, record all changes in your Outcome Measures
1: Immobilise joint and go to A&E for further imagery / investigation
2: Acute wrist / finger sprain (less than 7 days) – immobilize with a splint to assist pain and prevent excessive movement. 5-7 days in splint.
15: Apply ice wrapped in cloth to area
9: Repeat movement and try and get full range of movement at finger joints into flexion/extension
7: Try and achieve full range of movement into flexion and extension, using other hand to help
5: Using a towel/cloth, twist it between hands
6: Hand/finger strengthening. Use elastic band to resist movement
18: Hand/finger strengthening. squeeze towel to resist movements, and clench fist
15: Apply ice wrapped in cloth to area

4: Wrist strengthening. Use theraband or weights into flexion, extension

18: Hand/finger strengthening. squeeze towel to resist movements, and clench fist
10: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Use a night splint to keep the hand in neutral at night. If symptoms persist seek further orthopaedic opinion if possible

14: Soft tissue massage to thumb extensor region
7: Try and achieve full range of movement into flexion and extension, using other hand to help
8: Try and achieve full range of movement into supination and pronation, using other hand to help
15: Apply ice wrapped in cloth to area
12: Apply heat to wrist / hand, ensure there is full sensation. Use wax bath at maximum 60 degree as available.
9: Repeat movement and try and get full range of movement at finger joints into flexion/extension.

8: Try and achieve full range of movement into supination and pronation, using other hand to help

16: Where possible, wear splint during the day if painful activity may be involved
13: Stretches to musculature including thumb extensors. Hold 30 secs
14: Soft tissue massage to thumb extensor region
